BlackBerry- Introduction

What is it?
The BlackBerry is a handheld personal digital assistant and mobile phone made by  Research in motion  (RIM). BlackBerry client software is also available for certain mobile phones including those supplied through the Imperial College mobile phone scheme - although we do not yet support BlackBerry functionality on them.
What does it do?

Your BlackBerry supplied through the College scheme will enable you to:
  • Read, reply and compose emails in your College mailbox (Exchange mail)
  • Access your Exchange Calendar
  • Access your Personal Contacts list
  • Acess your Personal Tasks List
  • Compose and upload memos and short documents
  • For a full list of features to be implemented initially see the Project Description pages on this web site.
Additional functions, for example mobile web browsing and telephone, will be deployed at subsequent stages in the project.
